Clarification
Water clarification helps to remove suspended solids (SS)
and particulate matter from wastewater - usually with the
help of flocculants and coagulants, which improve settling
of wastes. Water clarification systems are either rectangular
or circular, where water flows from end to end, or where
flow occurs from the centre outward, respectively.
Water clarification is used in the treatment of sewage,
drinking and industrial effluent water as pre-treatment to
further purification processes for commercial and industrial
purposes. It is also used as a particular application for
grease and oil removal in industrial effluents.
