Evaporation and Crystallisation

Generally, evaporation and crystallisation, are integrated into a treatment process enabling optimal sizing and operation, but their application in water treatment normally involves either the recovery of water from a brine or waste stream or the production of potable or process water from groundwater or seawater.

Thermal processes, such as Evaporation and crystallisation technologies in combination with other processes, such as reverse osmosis (RO), are used to establish Zero Liquid Effluent Discharge systems. The main purpose is to recycle the effluent water as process water and to either recover valuable components from the brine stream or to dump the crystallised filter cake in the landfill. This not only prevents contamination of the environment and cuts dumping fees and penalties, but also provides a potential source of income to the client.
