Oxidation and Disinfection
Disinfection of water by physicochemical methods involves the destruction of disease-causing organisms in order to prevent their spread. Furthermore, processes such as ultraviolet irradiation and ozonation also help in the destruction of biological contaminants that remain in the water after treatment, such as colour and COD. These processes are used in sewage wastewater treatment (STP), potable water treatment, Effluent wastewater treatment (ETP), as well as ultra-pure water applications.
